OBSBOT Camera Carry Bag Is Now Available
Exclusively Designed Around the OBSBOT Tail 2
The biggest advantage of the new Camera Carry Bag is its purpose-built internal layout. Instead of providing one large compartment in which the camera, cables and adapters can move around during transportation, OBSBOT has created a modular interior specifically tailored to the dimensions and requirements of the Tail 2.
The most important element is a dedicated gimbal-head protection compartment, which fits closely around the camera and helps prevent unwanted movement and potential gimbal damage while the equipment is being transported. This is particularly useful with a motorized PTZR camera such as the Tail 2, where protecting the precision mechanical components is considerably more important than it would be with an ordinary fixed camera.
At the same time, separate sections provide convenient storage for accessories, allowing the camera and its supporting hardware to travel as one organized kit rather than as a collection of loose components.
Room for the Camera, Cables and Essential Accessories
As the promotional images demonstrate, the interior has been designed to accommodate the OBSBOT Tail 2 itself alongside its USB-C power cable, USB-C to USB-A 3.0 adapter and 2.5 mm male to RS232 MD8 female serial cable, while additional pockets can hold smaller items such as the supplied desiccant or other compact accessories.
That modular arrangement should prove particularly useful for mobile creators because the equipment remains both protected and immediately accessible. Arriving at a shooting location no longer needs to involve searching through several pockets for the correct cable or carefully untangling accessories wrapped around the camera; the Tail 2 has its own protected area, while cables and adapters occupy their respective storage sections.
It is a relatively simple design decision, but precisely the kind that becomes valuable when equipment is repeatedly packed, transported, unpacked and set up in different locations.
Soft Interior Protection Meets a Tougher Exterior
OBSBOT has also paid attention to what happens when the bag inevitably gets bumped during everyday transportation. Inside is a combination of thick EPE and EVA cushioning with a soft, velvety lining, creating a protective layer around the equipment that is intended to absorb shocks while reducing the possibility of scratches against the camera’s exterior surfaces.
The outer construction uses sturdy, tear-resistant laminated fabric and provides light splash protection, giving the bag another practical layer of defense when moving between locations. It should not be confused with a fully waterproof hard case, but for normal commuting, location shooting and everyday transportation, the combination of padded construction, scratch-resistant interior treatment and splash-resistant exterior makes considerably more sense than carrying the Tail 2 unprotected.
Surprisingly Compact at Just 492.2 Grams
Despite providing dedicated compartments and substantial internal cushioning, the Camera Carry Bag itself remains relatively lightweight. OBSBOT specifies a weight of just 492.2 grams, meaning the protective case does not add an excessive burden to an already mobile production setup.
Its dimensions are approximately 185 × 100 × 200 mm, creating a compact rectangular form that should fit comfortably alongside other production equipment while still providing sufficient space for the Tail 2 and its key accessories.
Portability is further improved by two carrying options. A top handle makes the bag convenient for quickly picking up and moving equipment around a studio or location, while the detachable shoulder strap turns it into a compact shoulder bag when walking between shooting locations or carrying additional equipment in your hands.
The shoulder strap is also adjustable and includes a padded section, reinforcing the impression that OBSBOT has designed the accessory for actual field use rather than simply as a storage case that remains on a shelf.
A More Complete Mobile Tail 2 Setup
For creators investing in a Tail 2 specifically because they want sophisticated AI-powered camera functionality without being permanently tied to a conventional studio environment, a dedicated transport solution is a logical addition to the ecosystem. OBSBOT describes the Tail 2 as an AI-powered PTZR 4K live-production camera, and its combination of motorized movement and advanced imaging capabilities makes protecting that hardware during transportation especially relevant.
The new bag does not attempt to become an oversized universal camera backpack. Instead, its appeal comes from doing something much more specific: providing the Tail 2 with a compact protective home while leaving enough organized space for the cables and adapters that accompany it.
That makes it particularly attractive for livestreamers, videographers, interviewers, content creators, event-production teams, educators and businesses that frequently move a Tail 2 between studios, conference rooms, venues or shooting locations.
A Small Accessory That Makes the Tail 2 Easier to Take Anywhere
The OBSBOT Camera Carry Bag may be a comparatively simple addition next to the company’s sophisticated camera hardware, but it addresses one of the less glamorous realities of owning professional production equipment: eventually, you need to move it.
With its Tail 2-specific modular interior, dedicated gimbal protection, EPE and EVA cushioning, soft lining, tear-resistant laminated exterior, light splash protection, detachable shoulder strap and compact 185 × 100 × 200 mm dimensions, the bag provides a much more convincing transportation solution than relying on an improvised generic case.
At only 492.2 grams, it also preserves the portability that makes a compact AI camera setup attractive in the first place. Pack the Tail 2, organize the essential accessories, close the dual zippers and the complete camera kit is ready to travel.
For Tail 2 owners who frequently shoot away from a permanent setup, the new carry bag therefore looks less like an optional cosmetic accessory and more like a practical extension of the camera itself—one designed to help ensure that when creativity takes you somewhere new, the Tail 2 arrives protected, organized and ready to capture.
