SDMC & Amlogic Showcased Edge AI-Powered Home @ IBC 2026
At IBC 2026, SDMC and Amlogic showcased a new generation of edge AI-enabled home devices, demonstrating how AI can enhance everyday experiences across home control, entertainment, and family memories. The collaboration combines Amlogic’s SoC platforms, NPU capabilities, and software ecosystem with SDMC’s expertise in AI Home solution, system integration, and edge AI application. Built on Amlogic platforms, the AI Home Display, AI Streaming Box, and AI Frame demonstrate how SDMC transforms edge AI capabilities into practical home experiences across different scenarios.
Three Edge AI Experiences for the Home
The collaboration explores three complementary AI Home scenarios, where Amlogic’s advanced computing platforms are integrated with SDMC’s product and solution capabilities to deliver more intelligent, responsive, and privacy-conscious home experiences.
AI Home Display—Intelligent Home Interaction
Powered by the Amlogic A311Y3, SDMC integrates edge AI processing into the AI Home Display, enabling environmental awareness, contextual understanding, cross-device coordination, and intelligent interaction within the home. With AI-powered assistance, multi-device voice coordination, and contactless sleep insights, the display extends beyond a control interface to become a more natural entry point for AI Home.
AI Streaming Box—Edge AI in the Living Room
Based on the Amlogic S905X5, SDMC brings NPU-accelerated edge AI capabilities into the streaming experience through AI application adaptation and device integration. Beyond traditional entertainment, the AI Streaming Box enables experiences such as an on-device chatbot, AI-assisted interaction, and connected-device coordination, demonstrating how edge AI can create new possibilities for the living room.
AI Frame—Intelligent Family Memory
Built around the Amlogic S905D5, the AI Frame explores how SDMC brings edge AI capabilities to the digital frame experience, enabling more intelligent interaction with personal photos and videos. With AI-powered media understanding and content discovery, it goes beyond passive display to create a more intuitive way to manage and rediscover family memories.
Enabling New Edge AI Opportunities
By enabling more edge AI processing across home devices, SDMC’s AI Home solutions can support faster response, more privacy-conscious processing, and differentiated service experiences, creating new opportunities for operators to differentiate home services and expand AI-powered offerings.
Ryan Yan, Senior Vice President of SDMC, said: “Together with Amlogic, we are bringing edge AI into practical home experiences across control, entertainment, and family memories. We look forward to expanding this collaboration and exploring more possibilities for the AI Home.”
James Xie, Senior Vice President of Corporate Business Strategy at Amlogic, said: “Edge AI is redefining smart home devices with local, privacy-centric intelligence. Our collaboration with SDMC leverages the built-in AI NPUs in A311Y3, S905X5, and S905D5 SoCs to deliver real-world experiences, empowering partners to advance AI-powered smart home services.”
From silicon platforms to real home experiences, the collaboration between SDMC and Amlogic demonstrates a practical path for bringing edge AI into everyday home devices and services.
