Install TWRP
Install latest stable SuperSU image using TWRP recovery console
Done.
I made a very big stupidity by buying a box tv m8s + Acemax, I am very angry.
I go to a website: http://www.acemax.net.cn/ and I followed the link on aliexpress to buy my box tv.
At first it worked (I have not tried wifi), but since I’ve been updating it does not work, I’m stuck on the recovery.
The method of sd card gives nothing.
The method with burning tool does not result
I begin to wonder if it’s not a big scam.
@bastian where can i download twrp for m8s+
How can i see if the box is rooted? Can someone tell me how to do that?
Install and run Root Checker, free from Google Play Store.
Does someone knows how to make a backup of the total m8s+ ? I have 10 boxes and 1 box is finisch. now want to make backup of that box and then restore the other boxes to the same as box 1
Got it working on a generic M8S+ box. Tried flashing with TWRP, at first it kept failing and said ‘This is the m8s device not the N200’. Well a bit of ‘updater-script’ editing and the flashing went through. All seems okay, wifi & ethernet working, normal operations feels a bit smoother.
The only problem that I’ve found so far is HDMI audio always starts out as disabled. Have to turn off the TV and turn it back on again to reset the HDMI audio signal. Or turn the box on first, and then the TV next. That solves problem with no audio.
FYI, the wifi chip on my particular box is AP6330, boxes with other chip (BCM4335) might not play well with this firmware. Be warned.
