Oppo A9 launches with MediaTek Helio P70
The new Oppo A9 – uses the high-performance MediaTek Helio P70 inside its large 6.53-inch frame. The tiny waterdrop notch at the top of its FullHD+ display keeps the screen-to-body ratio over 90%, yet still manages to squeeze a big 16MP selfie-snapper.
At the back, a 16MP camera is supported by a 2MP depth sensor, and all three cameras are backed by the P70’s unique triple-ISP design and hardware accelerators such as a high-resolution depth engine, faster shot-to-JPEG processing, a dozen native-HDR photography enhancements, EIS, RSC and Instant AE.
The P70 SoC contains an octa-core mix of performance Arm Cortex-A73 cores and power efficient Cortex-A53 paired to a fast Arm G72-powered graphics core, plus 525MHz multi-core, multi-threading AI processing unit (APU) that alone pumps out 210GMACs. Oppo pairs this to an ample 6GB of memory and a generous 128GB of storage, plus large 4,020mAh battery.
The A9 ships with Oppo’s ColorOS 6, which is based on the latest Android 9, and has Oppo’s AI-enhancements integrated. In addition, Oppo also adds its own GameBoost 2.0 to enhance the gaming performance with tweaks throughout to the hardware and software, ensuring the best experience and smoothest gameplay. The A9 flaunts a 3D gradient design and is available in three colors – Mica Green, Ice Jade White, and Fluorite Purple.
