Cayin A02 Latest Audio Motherboard Announced
Cayin has announced a new audio motherboard for its highly acclaimed digital audio player Cayin N6ii, it is called Cayin A02. The Cayin N6ii previously has four different audio motherboards to choose from. A01, E01, E02, and T01. All these motherboards are made for portable headphone output usage.
The latest A02 audio motherboard is designed specifically to use the N6ii as a source for your home and desktop audio solutions. Dual AK4497EQ DAC Chips
The Cayin A02 adopts the premium Dual AK4497EQ DAC architecture from the flagship Cayin N8 digital audio player. Both the DAC chips operate in mono mode decoding each channel independently. AK4497EQ is a new generation premium 32-bit DAC chip based on AKM’s Velvet Sound architecture. It offers stellar performance with ultra-low distortion and completely noise-free sound output. With the A02 module, the N6ii can decode PCM up to 32-Bit/384kHz and DSD256 natively.
Fixed Voltage Line-Out
The Cayin A02 has two output ports, one 3.5mm single-ended, and another 4.4mm balanced output ports. Both the ports can provide fixed voltage line-out and variable voltage pre-amp output selectable through the drop-down menu in your N6ii. Volume control makes no change in the output in Line-out mode. It has a fixed output voltage rating at three different gain modes. The 3.5mm output has a voltage rating of 2.1Vrms on high gain, 1.6Vrms on the medium gain, and 1.0 Vrms on low gain. The 4.4mm output has an output voltage of 4.2Vrms on high gain, 3.2Vrms on the medium gain, and 2.0 Vrms on low gain.
Variable Voltage Pre-Out
With Cayin A02, your beloved N6ii can act as a pre-amplifier for your power amplifiers & speakers in your chain. Both the 3.5mm and 4.4mm ports can give variable voltage pre-out. The output voltage can be adjusted using the volume control on the N6ii. The 3.5mm gives an output of up to 4.2Vrms while the 4.4mm port has an output rating of up to 8.2Vrms.
Dual Low-Pass Filter Modes
The N6ii features two filter modes for both DSD and PCM. Users can manually select the PCM LPF or DSD LPF from the drop-down menu on your N6ii. It can also be set to Auto to automatically choose the filter type according to the playback file type.
