ASUS Teams Up with Cal Athletics for the Cal Bears Madden Challenge
ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) and TUF Gaming today announced a partnership with Cal Athletics, representing the University of California, Berkeley, to host the all-digital Cal Bears Madden Challenge on March 13-14, 2021. This collegiate esports tournament invites any and all Cal Bears to join in and go head-to-head against their peers in Madden NFL 21 for both glory and prizing from ASUS’s top-of-the-line esports product catalogue, including an ASUS TUF Gaming VG24VQE monitor, an ROG Ranger backpack, an ROG Delta Core headset, and more.

“Even as events and tournaments shift to an online-only setting, Cal Athletics has continued to provide students with exciting digital activations throughout the year. ASUS is looking forward to partnering with the Cal esports community to support each student’s passion for esports and future careers within the STEM and gaming space,” said Yen Hoang, senior manager of brand marketing at ASUS North America.
“It’s undeniable the growth and excitement of college esports, which escalated further during a pandemic year with the massive shift to an online way of doing life,” said Andy McDowell, vice president and general manager for Cal Bears Sports Properties, which secured ASUS for the presenting sponsorship. “We’re looking forward to hosting the Cal Bears Madden Challenge for students here on Level Next, Learfield IMG College’s new esports solution, and we appreciate ASUS’ support to make that happen through a new, yet shared affinity with Cal.”
Beyond creating top-notch hardware for gamers and creators through its ROG and TUF Gaming product series, ASUS continues to foster inclusivity among gaming, esports and PC DIY enthusiasts of all ages by supporting community initiatives at educational institutions and among passionate students who are interested in pursuing STEM degrees and careers. ASUS is proud to work alongside a number of organizations that share a passion for building a place for gaming and technology in education as well as offer a world-class gaming ecosystem that allow student esports enthusiasts of all levels to participate and grow within their local communities.
