Meet Honor Choice X7e Earbuds
From the moment I picked up the box of the HONOR Choice Earbuds X7e, it was immediately clear that these were designed with a very specific philosophy in mind: long-term comfort, natural sound immersion, and effortless everyday usability, rather than aggressive isolation or overly technical complexity. After spending an extended period using them as my main audio companion throughout workdays, commuting hours, workouts, calls, and late-night listening sessions, the experience revealed itself as far more refined and thoughtfully balanced than I initially expected.
The unboxing experience is clean, and deliberately minimalistic, setting the tone for what the product ultimately delivers in daily use. Opening the packaging, I was greeted by the charging case resting neatly inside, with the earbuds already seated, accompanied by essential documentation. There is no excess or unnecessary flourish here—everything feels purposeful, efficient, and aligned with HONOR’s understated design approach. Lifting the charging case for the first time, its compact form factor and surprisingly light weight immediately stood out. It feels reassuring in the hand, with a smooth, matte finish that resists fingerprints while offering just enough grip to feel secure. The hinge opens smoothly and closes with a subtle firmness that suggests durability and long-term reliability, something I always appreciate in earbuds meant for everyday carry.
The earbuds themselves continue this theme of quiet refinement. The semi-open design is instantly noticeable, both visually and physically, setting them apart from traditional fully sealed in-ear earbuds. Each earbud weighs just 4.8 grams, and yet they never feel fragile. Instead, the materials feel carefully chosen, balancing lightness with structural integrity.
This semi-open architecture contributes not only to their distinctive look but also to their defining characteristic: a sense of airiness and natural presence once worn. Combined with the ergonomic shaping, the earbuds settle into the ear effortlessly, without creating pressure or fatigue. Even after several hours of continuous use, I often forgot I was wearing them at all, which is perhaps the strongest compliment one can give to an audio product focused on comfort.
The IP54 dust and water resistance further reinforces their practicality. Whether during workouts, outdoor walks, or light rain, I never felt the need to be cautious or protective, which adds to the overall feeling of confidence and freedom in daily use.
Pairing the HONOR Choice Earbuds X7e is a seamless and intuitive process. On supported HONOR smartphones and tablets, the pop-up pairing animation appears instantly when opening the case, clearly displaying battery levels and enabling connection with a single tap. This creates a sense of immediacy and polish that enhances the first interaction. Across other devices, Bluetooth 5.3 ensures a fast, stable, and consistently reliable connection. During my time using them across multiple devices, including phones, tablets, and laptops, I experienced no noticeable dropouts or latency issues. The same-account auto pairing feature adds another layer of convenience, allowing the earbuds to transition smoothly between devices without repeated manual pairing.
The defining experience of the X7e reveals itself once you begin using them throughout the day. The semi-open active noise cancellation does not attempt to aggressively block the outside world. Instead, it subtly reduces background noise while allowing essential ambient sounds to remain present. This creates a listening environment that feels natural, relaxed, and far less fatiguing than traditional ANC earbuds. In cafés, on busy streets, or while commuting, music remains immersive yet harmonious with the surroundings. There is no pressure build-up in the ears, no sensation of isolation, only a gentle filtering of distractions that allows you to remain aware while still fully engaged in your audio. This approach feels especially well-suited to modern, mobile lifestyles where awareness and comfort are just as important as immersion. The wear detection works fluidly and reliably, automatically pausing playback when the earbuds are removed and resuming when they are placed back in the ear, adding to the sense of intelligent, user-aware design.
Sonically, the HONOR Choice Earbuds X7e deliver an impressively rich and nuanced listening experience, driven by the 11 mm LCP composite diaphragm dynamic driver paired with a dual-magnet driver unit. From the first track, the sound profile feels confident and well-balanced, with an emphasis on musicality rather than artificial enhancement. Bass reproduction is deep, full, and controlled, carrying real presence without overwhelming the rest of the mix. Midrange frequencies are warm and expressive, allowing vocals and instruments to sound natural and emotionally engaging. The high frequencies extend cleanly, adding clarity and air without introducing harshness or fatigue. The enhanced spatial surround sound further elevates the experience, creating a sense of width and depth that makes music feel layered and immersive. Tracks gain a three-dimensional quality, with instruments occupying their own space, producing a rhythmic, stereo, multi-layered effect that draws you into the performance rather than simply playing sound into your ears.
Call quality benefits significantly from the dual-mic AI ENC system, which intelligently filters ambient noise to ensure that voices remain clear and intelligible. Whether indoors or outdoors, conversations felt smooth and professional, with minimal interference from surrounding sounds. For gaming and video consumption, enabling Game Mode noticeably reduces latency, maintaining tight audio-visual synchronization and enhancing immersion, particularly during fast-paced content. Touch controls are responsive and intuitive, supporting double tap, triple tap, and hold gestures that quickly become second nature. The ability to customize certain functions adds flexibility without overcomplicating the experience.
Battery life is another area where the X7e excels quietly but confidently. With up to 8 hours of playback on a single charge and a total of 40 hours with the charging case, I was able to go several days without even thinking about charging. The fast-charging capability, delivering 2 hours of playback from just 10 minutes of charging, proved invaluable during busy mornings or last-minute outings.
After extensive daily use, the HONOR Choice Earbuds X7e emerge as a product defined not by flashy gimmicks, but by balance, comfort, and thoughtful engineering. Their semi-open active noise cancellation, airy wearing experience, immersive yet natural sound signature, and long battery life combine to create earbuds that feel genuinely pleasant to live with. Rather than demanding attention, they quietly enhance everyday moments—whether working, relaxing, commuting, or communicating—making them an excellent choice for users who value comfort, awareness, and refined audio performance in equal measure.

Their semi-open structure allows air circulation and eliminates the ear-plugging effect of silicone in-ear designs. They sit lightly in the ear, creating a natural acoustic environment with zero pressure buildup, which makes them suitable for long-term listening, walking outdoors, or taking calls without losing awareness of the surroundings. Sound performance is airy and clear. The open design emphasizes vocal transparency and midrange detail, giving music a relaxed and natural tone.
